Arlo Smart is a product that allows you to add AI features to your Arlo cameras. The cameras can not only trigger when sensing motions, they can record the motion, highlight what caused the camera to trigger the recording mode, and is programmable to ignore certain triggers.

You can set it, for example, to ignore certain animals or traffic. You can also set it to ignore motion in certain parts of the field of view, only triggering if there is motion outside of allowable areas – perfect for monitoring a high-traffic area with a restriction space, or for monitoring an animal pen or a room with a pet or guard animal inside.

The software learns, too, so a false trigger one day shouldn’t happen again the next day, allowing you to filter out certain things that are only subtly different than those you want to detect.

These features reduce the stress and alarm caused by false triggering of the device, which adds to the peace and security you and your family will feel.

Arlo puts a lot of R&D investment into algorithms and machine learning technology, and is seeking to solve automated security problems we currently grapple with, as well as those we can foresee as issues in the future.
