The Panasonic Corporation is a Japanese, global electronics company out of Kadoma, Osaka, Japan. It was founded in 1918, under the name Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., for the purpose of producing lightbulb sockets. It is now one of the largest Japanese electronics producers, competing with Sony, Hitachi, Toshiba, Pioneer and Canon. It produces electronic products of course, but also puts out a variety of non-electronic products and services as varied as home renovation services, and clothing. As of 2012, it was the world’s fourth-largest manufacturer of televisions by market share.

The company was taken public, and trades on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, on the Nikkei 225 and TOPIX indices. It also has a secondary listing on the Nagoya Stock Exchange.

Panasonic Smart Home

Panasonic has developed a Smart Home Monitoring and Control Kit, designed to provide everything you need to set up the Internet of Things in your home, and to control your devices locally or remotely from a phone or tablet.

Installation takes only a few moments, and the kit includes an indoor camera that allows you to visually check on your home for addition confidence. Simple smart power outlet adaptors allow users to control lights and other home features, remotely, creating the appearance that someone is at home (for security purposes) and enabling appliances to be turned on and off to water plants, adjust security before and after cleaners perform their duties, and other uses.

There is no ongoing fee or subscription, and the system is expandable by simply adding more components as needed. Addition to the system requires one push of a pairing button, and it’s ready to go.
